Personal life and Death of Johnny Winter
Winter tied the knot with Susan Warford in 1993. Winter worked in his field until he died on July 16, 2014, near Zürich, Switzerland. He died two days after his last show, which was at the Cahors Blues Festival in France. His body was found in his hotel room. No public word was given about what killed Winter. Paul Nelson, a musician and record producer who was friends with Winter, said that he died of emphysema and pneumonia.
